FBA Planning “Fun Cook” ,  Annual Meeting and Celebrate Last Year Party

It is the time of year where the FBA begins making plans for our annual business meeting, “Fun Cook” and the Celebrate Last Year party and awards ceremony.  It is traditional in the FBA that we schedule this event to occur over Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4 – 6.

In the world of competition BBQ, most of us enjoy what we do whether it be cooking, judging, being a Rep. or just hanging out at contests.  Sometimes though, for some reason or another, some of us get a little intense to the point where we need to be reminded that what we are doing is supposed to be a fun thing.

This is where our fun cook weekend comes in to play.  We have reserved 35 spaces at the beautiful Clerbrook Golf and RV Resort in Clermont, Florida.  The weekend activities will include a competition cook judged by FBA Judges, as well as some ancillary contests, probably a sauce contest and a desert contest, and for sure a Kids Que contest.  We will also conduct a Judge’s Seminar which will be conducted by Mr. Rick DiMaggio.  Sandwiched in between all of these fun events, we will have our annual business meeting  at the conclusion of the judging of our cook contest.  Saturday evening we are planning on having our Celebrate Last Year party and awards ceremony.  Throughout the weekend we will have access to the swimming pool and golf course where, if there is sufficient interest, we may have a golf tournament for those attending.

We have accepted one of our Reps, Mr. Dennis Schmitz, very generous and kind offer to be our Organizer for this event. We have also appointed Mr. Bob Youngblood to be Lead Rep, and he will be assisted by Mr. Gary Washam and Mr. Charles Golden.  Dennis is currently actively seeking volunteers and sponsors to assist us in handling this  event, and he is looking forward to hearing from any interested party.

Looking forward to this great event and to seeing all of you there.
