COMMITTEE REPORTS

Cook Teams Committee – cook teams have been working on a new team of the year payout.  Also working on a new points count for pro.  The cooks committee is submitting this suggestion to the BOD for review.

Judges Committee – Jim has done an evaluation of the judge’s participation at contests this year.  The new system is working.  There are more contests and then the back yard contests coming on line.  There were only 5% if judges doing 15 or more contests.  More new judges are getting to judge.  Older judges are frustrated that they don’t get to judge more.

780 judges over all, but 320 judges are participating.  This is the first year we’ve really kept track of how the judge assignment is going.

Jim Frazee brought charts to review.  Almost all contests are under the new FBA judge sign up system.

It would be nice to query the judges to see if they have any suggestions.  The more teams that support the events means more judges will get to judge.

Judge confirmation to judge is a Little bit by the computer and a little bit by human selection.  Senior judges feel they are getting less judging opportunities than they are used to and they are not happy about it.

Some judges need to learn to work the system.  If not assigned and live closer to the event, they can just show up to the contest and possibly get seated.

Lou would like to see more uniformity in how judges are selected.  He would like to see something in writing.

IT Committee – Gary Washam: Issues with the FBA website.

BBQ scores sent a template for how they want our team contest data sent to them.  It is not very compatible with our method of keeping track of contest scores.

Marketing/Social Media Committee – No report

The 2nd weekend of December will be the date for the Fun Cook in 2019.  Matt Barber made a motion that the Fun Cook  be held December 13-14, 2019.  no vote was called for.

Another change for TOTY payout; right now it pays through 10 place; butt would like to see it pay out through 15 places.

$5,875.00 will be the grand total TOTY payout.

Steve moved to increase the TOTY payout.  Matt 2nd the motion carried.

Would like to see a historian appointed to help recapture some of the history of FBA
